Through his firm New Win Global, Jimmy partners with enterprises, governments, start-up ventures and investors on diverse industry projects that embrace this approach to a better world. His current projects span Metaverse, stablecoins, invoice financing powered by blockchain & AI, and media for the digital economy.
Jimmy is a leading voice for making blockchain useful as data infrastructure (not just for cryptocurrency trading), and also advances Metaverse, Web3, IoT, FinTech, AI and other technologies. In addition to work in the world’s largest markets, Jimmy contributes time to support three developing countries: Nigeria, Pakistan and his birth country Vietnam. He is also a motivational speaker and media commentator.
Blockchain Leadership
Previously, Jimmy led formation of the Switzerland-based BSV Blockchain Association (Bitcoin Association for BSV) and served as its global Founding President until September 2022.
Across the world, Jimmy has advanced education on the need for blockchain scaling, real utility, and legal compliance – speaking to government, business and technical leaders across many countries in North America, the Middle East, Europe, Asia and Africa.
Jimmy also served as CEO of nChain Group, a worldwide leader in research and development of blockchain technologies (with one of the industry’s largest patent portfolios).
Jimmy has been consistently ranked in Visitory.com’s CryptoLeaders list of top 100 “Crypto & Bitcoin Influencers” in the world. In January 2020, he was recognized as one of the “Most Influential Individuals in Blockchain” by TurgenSec, an information security research company. Legal Expertise
Before entering the blockchain industry full time, Jimmy had a 21-year career as an intellectual property, digital media & technology lawyer, and was a partner at three major U.S. law firms. As a lawyer, his clients included the Motion Picture Association of America, Sony Pictures Entertainment, CBS Films, BBC Worldwide Americas, the Miss Universe Organization, LEGO Systems, Sony Computer Entertainment America, Kia Motors America, Hyundai Capital America, J.Crew Group, Microsoft, Amazon, Uber, and global online gaming brands.
Jimmy served as Chair of the California Bar’s Intellectual Property Section. In 2008, Lawdragon named Jimmy (at only age 36) one of the “500 Leading Lawyers in America” and described him as a “dynamo talent.” He has also been recognized by the Century City Bar Association as “Intellectual Property Lawyer of the Year” (2011), and by the Association of Media & Entertainment Counsel with its Industry Leader Award (2017).

A strong diversity & inclusion advocate, Jimmy co-chaired the California Minority Counsel Program and was inducted into its “Diversity Leader Hall of Fame” (2015). Diversity MBA Magazine named him a “Top 100 Under 50 Diverse Executive Leader” (2015).

Life & Education
Jimmy was born in Saigon, Vietnam, the youngest son of a judge in the former South Vietnamese government. His family fled the night before Saigon fell in April 1975; with help from the U.S. government, they were re-settled into Southern California, where Jimmy lived most of his life.
Excelling early, Jimmy graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles at age 19 (B.A., Communication Studies, specialization in Mass Communication, magna cum laude, 1992). Jimmy then graduated law school at age 22 - the youngest member of his class - from the University of Southern California Law Center (Juris Doctor, 1995).
